William Dale Sealy, age 87, of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, with his family by his side.

Born June 11, 1929 in Joliet, he was the son of LeRoy and Loretta (nee Dolan) Sealy, and a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School. For many years, he and his brother owned and operated Sealy Shell Service in Crest Hill. He later worked at the Citgo Refinery in Lemont, retiring after 30 years of service.

Dale was an avid golfer and enjoyed walking, attending his grandchildren’s many activities, and wintering in Florida. He also enjoyed being a member of the Wagon Dragons Camping Group.

Dale was also an active member of his community, serving as one of the original Alderman for Crest Hill, from its incorporation in 1960, and for many years thereafter. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a fun and caring grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving are his daughters, Debbie (Larry) Frigo of Crest Hill, and Janet (Joe) Cernugel of Joliet; four grandchildren, Larry Frigo, Jeanette (Ed) Ruettiger, Joe Cernugel and Danny Cernugel; and his great-grandson, Lil’ Buddy, Eddie Ruettiger.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis (nee Killdoo) Sealy (1992); one son, William Dale “Billy” Sealy, Jr. (1963); and his parents and siblings.

Funeral services for Dale Sealy will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation Rites will be accorded following services and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
