Seeley Genealogical Society is an organization devoted to assembling and preserving genealogical and historical materials pertaining to the Seeley surname (ALL spellings: Seeley, Seelye, Seely) and Allied families. Membership is open to ALL persons interested in genealogical research and preservation of records.
Do you only support Seeley research?
We specialize in the Seeley surname, and variants (Seeley, Seelye, Seely) but do make related allied family information available.
Are my donations Tax Deductible?
Yes. SGS is a Title 501 (c)(3) organization, all donations are tax deductible for those who itemize.
How do I make a donation?
Donations may be financial or otherwise. Monetary donations may be in check or money order, made out to “Seeley Genealogical Society”. Books, research notes, filing cabinets, or computer equipment are welcome. Please contact us before sending large items, so we can determine if we can use it, and make room for it. Currently, our Society headquarters is in a private home.
Be specific and detailed: Give us as much information as you have about the person or family in question, especially dates and locations.
What resources have you already consulted? The SGS Publications? The census? Cemetery records? Ancestry.com?
What exactly do you want to know? Parent’s names and details? Information on siblings? Information on a family marrying into the Seeley family?
After your query is printed please keep us informed about any information you receive or any further progress you make on your own. Other members may also be interested or related to your line.
One more name, date or place may be the key to connecting your line to another. Also make sure we have your current email and normal address – sometimes we get information several months after publication.
How do I contact SGS?
For comments or questions about SGS, or about the genealogical information presented on our site, please contact our Editor or President through:
We have freely-available newsletters to view and download, whenever you want. If you’d like to view the eight most recent newsletters, you must be a current and active SGS member.
What kind of help can I get without joining?
All are welcome to view our web site and may contact any person listed on the queries page.
We try to tell those considering membership whether or not there is anyone researching a similar family line. An answer of “No.” may mean that our current members have not yet submitted their latest information.
