Wayne Edward “Buck” Seelye

PEKIN — Wayne Edward “Buck” Seelye, 63, of Rural Route 3, Box 3499, Thayer, Mo., died at 7 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Mo.

He was formerly of Pekin, IL moving to Missouri in 1995. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito. IL . Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

He was born Dec. 25, 1942, in Pekin, IL to Carl W. and Bernice Taylor Seelye. He married Wanda O. Norman June 13, 1961, in Pekin.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Corrine L. (Christopher) Russell of Koshkonong, Mo., Candy A. Seelye of Thayer, Mo., and Paula K. Seelye of Vernal, Utah; one son, Wayne “Pete” Seelye Jr. of Thayer, MO ; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl (Susan) Seelye Jr. of Pekin, IL; and one sister, Peggy Null of Pekin, IL. He was preceded in death by one grandson, one sister and one brother.

Seelye was a retired heavy equipment operator, last working at the Clinton Nuclear Power Plant, Clinton IL. He also was a self-employed landscaper in Thayer; and in Pekin from 1980 to 1998. He was of the Baptist faith.
