Eureka Youth Dies Following Recent Appendectomy

Complications following a ruptured appendix and operation two weeks ago resulted in the death last night of Walter Seely, fourth son of Mr and Mrs. C. Edward Seely at 1302 F street.

Walter Seely was 24 years old and was employed by the California Barrel company in Arcata and assisted his father as retoucher in his photography studio here. He was a graduate of the Eureka high school where he was prominent in athletics. He was born in Arcata.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his brothers, Richard, Elmo, Arthur and Robert of Eureka; his sister, Mrs. Robert Kohn of Gilroy, California, who was called here with her husband because of the serious illness of her brother. He also leaves several uncles and aunts, Walter F. Seely, noted Hollywood photographer, Alexander, Richard and Lewis Seely, Bessie Petersen and Olive Seely, all of Los Angeles; Dorothy Seely Hunter of Whittier; his grandmother, Mrs. Alma Seely of Los Angeles.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock in the Pierce chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial park.
