| TUSCALOOSA – Virginia Ray Sealy, age 90, passed away on November 29, 2016 after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Essie Green and Virgie Newton Ray; brother, Virgie N. Ray, Jr.; and her husband, Charlie O. Sealy, Sr., the love of her life to whom she was married 65 years. Survivors include her daughter, Gina Miers; son, Charles Sealy (Debra); granddaughters, Jenny Pass (Dave), Christina and Maria Sealy; grandson, Charlie Sealy (Sasha); great-grandchildren, Steven and Charlotte Pass; niece, Lani Crowder (Jerry); and other family members. Virginia or ”Jinks” as she was known to her family and close friends was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church, volunteered for 25 years at DCH Hospital Gift Shop and quietly supported a variety of civic and charitable endeavors. The family would like to express its thanks to her caregivers, DCH Hospital Emergency Room and 6th Floor Staff, Dr. John Summerford, Wanda McGee, Druid City Vital Care and especially Capstone Village. She loved living at Capstone Village with great friends and staff. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity. Respecting Mrs. Sealy’s wish for simplicity, a private graveside service will be held for immediate family members Friday, December 2, 2016 with David Watson officiant.
