Victor Alan Seely

December 19, 1939 – May 7, 2016

Victor Alan Seely, beloved husband, father went to be with our heavenly father on May 7, 2016. Vic passed away suddenly of natural causes. He died peacefully with his family at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Seely and Helen Johnson Seely. Victor received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Iowa State University in 1963. He entered the Army a 2nd Lieutenant attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and served his country in the Republic of Vietnam and numerous army posts throughout his military career. Victor earned an MS in Education from USC in 1978 and an MBA from UTSA in 1985. Victor met and married Teresa Ramirez in January, 1969. They traveled extensively during his military career. While stationed at Aberdeen, Maryland Christopher was born and a blessing, most especially, for Victor whose love for his only child grew all the days of his life.

Vic continued his career, actively working at AMEDD (Army Medical Center & School) Curriculum Development Dept., prior to his last days. A humble servant of God, country, and family. He was respected by many through the grace of his Savior. His passion was doing photography work for the Discalced Carmelites Monastery for over 25 years. Constant love of volunteer work over 45 years, in schools, band booster clubs, truck hauling instruments. Tutoring students to their ultimate level of succeeding to their best of their knowledge to achieve their careers. NIOSA was not partying but achieving and meeting goals for monies needed by young people in education. Twenty-five years he devoted his educational expertise to this cause. The Mustang Club started by Vic in the 80’s was teaching drivers to maintain their cars properly, safety, and to respect their vehicles.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years Teresa, son Chris and daughter-in-law Veronica, sister Kendra and brother-in-law Keith Seely. He leaves mother-in-law Josephine Ramirez brother-in-law Jimmy Ramirez and wife Mary Agnes, brother-in-law Carlos Ramirez and wife Margaret, and several nieces and nephews. He leaves family members from Von Ormy who were most supportive. A host of friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, parishioners, his admiration to Father Phil (Reverend Phillip D. Henning) who left a strong spiritual impact on Vic. Deacon Scott Imburgia who interacted with Father to bring so many smiles. Lupie Padilla always accommodating to Vic at any given time. Janie Gutierrez who followed up to see that we were always on track. Vic’s love for his son Christopher was the ultimate respect that a father can bestow on his son. Veronica was his daughter (never daughter-in-law) that he praised and admired. Vic and Teresa were one in marriage. “Our Lord does not look so much at the greatness of our actions, nor even of their difficulty, but at the love with which we do them.” St. Therese.
