Sheila was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed spending time teaching others to sew. Sheila was an avid dog lover and had several beloved puppies as members of her family throughout the years.

Sheila M. (Carmack) Seely

Sheila Marie (Carmack) Seely, 57, of Grand Rapids, Mich. passed away peacefully in her sleep Aug. 1, 2013 after a long and courageous struggle with diabetes.

The daughter of Roy and Dorothy (Sumner) Carmack, Sheila was born on Aug. 11, 1955 in Monroe, Mich. In 1973, Sheila was dedicated and baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses and found great comfort in the Bibles promises for the future. She lived in Monroe until 1973, when she married Patrick Seely and moved to Grand Rapids, Mich.

Sheila frequently returned to Monroe to visit family and friends. She had a vivacious and larger than life personality that drew people to her. She took pleasure in spending time teaching others to sew and giving gifts of her handiwork. As an avid dog lover, she had several beloved puppies as members of her family throughout the years.

In recent years, complications from type 1 diabetes prevented her from doing many of the things she enjoyed, but she never lost her love of life. All who loved her, especially her family, will miss her contagious laugh and sense of humor.

Sheila is survived by her loving daughter, Sheyna (Jarrod) Cronin of Grand Rapids; her mother, Dorothy Carmack, and sister, Katherine Carmack, both of Monroe; brother Thomas Carmack of Belleville; sisters Linda (Phillip) Crites of Toledo, Ohio and Vivian (James) McCarty of Clarkston, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Carmack, nephew Cade Crites and, sadly, her beloved son, Brent Seely, who died June 27, 2003.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 5301 E. Albain Road, Monroe, Mich.
