Norwich-Sheila Sealy, age 56, of Norwich, passed away at William W. Backus Hospital on June 23, 2013. She was born in Jersey City, NJ on January 7, 1957 to Mildred Brookins and the late Floyd Brookins. Sheila was a loving wife and devoted mother of two. She grew up in Matawan, New Jersey where she graduated from Matawan Regional High School in June 1975. Sheila met Nigel on 14 March 1970 and did not think much of him, but as he grew they fell in love and were married on 27 December 1979. She always said “the two best days of my life were when Samantha and Ryan were born”. She overlooked all of the kids at the bus stop who adored her. She is survived by her loving husband LCDR Nigel Sealy USN (Ret), a daughter Samantha Sealy 22, a son Ryan Sealy 13 all of Norwich and her mother Mildred Brookins of New Jersey. She also leaves behind a sister Patricia Thurman of Ohio, a sister Renee Brookins of Freehold, NJ, a sister Vanessa Chirumbolo of New Jersey, a brother Floyd Brookins of Texas, a sister Valerie Brookins of Alabama, a sister Kathy Brookins of Gerogia, an Aunt Leena Benjamin of Virginia and other Aunts, Uncles, several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a loving father-in-law Oswald Sealy. A Funeral Home service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich. Burial will immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery
