Scott A. Seely
Scott A. Seely, 60, of Shermans Dale, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on Tuesday, November 13, 1951, in Peoria, IL, a son of Margaret (Dempsey) Seely of Boise, Idaho and the late Donald D. Seely.
Scott was a US Air Force veteran and served toward the end of the Vietnam War. He retired from the PA Department of Corrections, where he was a Corrections Officer for 25 years at the Camp Hill State Prison. Scott also worked nine years with the PA Railroad. He enjoyed motorcycles, his Australian shepherd “Cosmo”, traveling to New Mexico and collecting movies in the DVD format. Scott was looking forward to living in New Mexico, where he owned property.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Samantha (Gillingham) Seely, one daughter, Serena L. (and her husband, James) Severs of Dover, PA, two sons; Spencer G. Seely of Enola and Seth A. Seely at home, two brothers; Randall Seely of Meridian, ID and Greg Seely of Spokane, WA, one grandson, Nathan Severs and many nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by two brothers; Denny and Kevin Seely.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Charles A. Brophy officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Scott’s name to a favorite charity of your choice.
