SEALEY, Sara Ruth

Sara Ruth Sealey, age 92, of Dallas, Texas passed away on May 16, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on April 29, 1926 in Houston, Texas to the late Lawson Sidney Murphey and Ruby Pittman Noble Murphey. She moved to Dallas, Texas with her family when she was young. Sara graduated from Highland Park High School and then SMU in 1944 with a BA in Psychology and Sociology. While at SMU Sara was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Destined by fate Sara met and married Edward Lewis Sealey. Together they raised two children, son, Edward Lewis, Jr. and daughter, Sara Josephine. Mrs. Sealey was involved in many Social Clubs; among them were the Dallas Woman’s Club, Sewing Club, Garden Club, Dallas Country Club, and the Ladies Birthday Club. Sara was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Later after having her children, Sara obtained an Interior Design Degree from El Centro College. Sara was a lifelong avid antique and art collector. Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lewis Sealey; mother, Ruby Pittman Noble Murphey; father, Lawson Sidney Murphey; sister, Phyllis Patricia Wilkin; and niece, Lynne Wilkin. She is survived by her son, Edward Lewis Sealey, Jr.(Kimberly); daughter, Sara Josephine Phelan Snider (Jeff); grandchildren, Laura Phelan, Lesley Phelan Dally (James), Patrick Phelan, Katherine Sealey, and Brian Sealey (Valerie); great grandchildren, Savannah Marie Sealey, Daniel Lawson Sealey and Margaret Hope Robinius; nieces, Diane Wilkin, Laurie Connell (Mark), and Cindy Henk (Gene); and nephews, John Sealey (Leah) and James Sealey. The Sealey Family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the following Care Angels in Sara’s life; Bobbi Smith, Deborah Odamah, Isabel Ngotho, and Rita Maxey. At Home Personal Care’s Staff; Krystal, Kim, Tonya, Dominica, La Tasha, Shanika, Yolanda, and Geraldine. Augustine’s Care Staff; Anu and Shiela. The Plaza at Edgemere’s Staff; Tove, Glenda, Deb, Leon, MaShaunda, Elizabeth, Richard, Lauren, Perri and Helen. Hospice Plus and their Staff of Angels than came in the last week of Sara’s journey. These loving and caring Angels meant so much to Sara. These individuals were definitely a part of her family and responsible for bringing her peace and joy while she battled with Multi-System Atrophy (Parkinson’s Disease). A Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Wynne Chapel Highland Park Presbyterian Church at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 15, 2018, Nelson Bell will be officiating.
