Sally Sealey, 78, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 18th, 2012 at the Stamford Hospital. Born on March 21, 1934 to the late Kenny and Mariah Irby. Sally was an exceptional single mother having raised her children, grandchildren and even other children who came back to visit her as if she were their own mother. Her love and patience made her career as a self employed child care provider successful and loving. She is survived by her five loving children; Mary Thompson (Melvin) of Bridgeport, Velma Y. Clark & Maggie D. Young both of Stamford, Willie J. Young (Michelle) of Maryland & Reginald Sealey of Stamford. Her 9 loving grandchildren, Pamela, Chelsea, Marilyn, Brian, Brandon, Matthew, Nateal, Justin & Noah, 11 great-grandchildren Shawn, Naiera, Mariah, Jayda, Jeremiah, Nathaniel, Jayshawn, Aiyanna, Myles, & Brooklyn, & two great-great-grandchildren Darius and Jamari. She is also survived by 4 brothers & 5 sisters as well as her special lifelong friend Bessie Forde of Stamford. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband Joseph Sealey, son Nathaniel Young Jr., 2 sisters & 1 brother. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:00AM at the Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT 06905. Entombment will follow at the Saint George’s Mausoleum in the Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Place, Stamford, CT. Friends may call at the church between the hours of 9:00AM to 10:00AM prior to service.
