Ruth Clark Sealey

Ruth Clark Sealey, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.

The funeral service will be at 11 AM at Filbert Presbyterian Church in America on Saturday, July 29, 2017 with Reverend Wallace Tinsley and Reverend Dave Hall officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Filbert Presbyterian Church in America in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Born in York, Ruth was a daughter of the late Andral B. Clark and Nila Cain Clark. Ruth’s love of her Lord Jesus Christ was shown in all her ways. She was such an inspiration to everyone who knew her, beginning with doting over her nieces and nephews when they were growing up to being a mother herself. The depth of her motherly love, care and protection cannot be put into words as well as the love and respect for her parents and siblings. She was an active member at Filbert Presbyterian Church in America beginning in 1946 where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and served as an officer of the Women of the Church. She retired in 1998 from Sullivan Carson after 48 years of service. She loved sending and receiving cards, planting and nurturing her flowers and baking for others.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Julie Christine Sealey and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sealey, twin brother, Roy Clark, brothers, Lamar Clark (Joann), Clyde Clark (Edith), sisters, Marjorie Clark Boyd (Dennis) and Harriet Boyd (Maxie).

Memorials may be made to Filbert Presbyterian Church in America at 2066 Filbert Hwy York, SC 29745 or any charity of one’s choosing to help in the aide of those disabled adults and children.

The family wants to express their appreciation and love to the staff of Providence Care who cared for Ruth since May.

Bratton Funeral Home in York is serving the Sealey family.
