Roy J. Seelye

EAST PEORIA — Roy J. Seelye, 73, of 1707 N. 12th St., Quincy, formerly of East Peoria, died at 8:36 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Born March 12, 1926, in Manito to Roy and Mildred Thomas Seelye, he married June Violet Rumpz on Dec. 29, 1973, in Havana. She died April 26, 1995. He also was preceded in death by one grandson.

Surviving are one daughter, Laura (Jon) Case, and one granddaughter, Kim Seelye, both of Marquette Heights.

A career Army veteran, he served during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War and was the recipient of a Bronze Star.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Marquette Heights, where memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Don Smith will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded by Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy.

Memorials may be made to TAPS (Tazewell Animal Protection Society) in Pekin.
