Rose was born in Oklahoma, married in Oklahoma to a person whose name we cannot determine here. She became widowed or divorced and moved to Chowchilla, CA where she married a local cattle rancher, Otto Hake. They operated the cattle ranch together until Otto died, and she continued to operate it alone thereafter.

Rose became very active in the lodge California Rebekah Assembly and I.O.O.F., Independent Order of Odd Fellows. She became a state officer of the Rebekah Assembly, and met Edward Allen Seeley, who was Grand Master of the state lodge of I.O.O.F. and was himself a widower. They married and made their home in Madera, 18 miles south of Chowchilla, at 1241 Decesari Avenue, Madera.

They lived there until Edward Seeley died Feb. 6, 1969. Initial services were conducted at Jay Chapel in Madera, following which a family funeral service was held at Pierce Brothers Mortuary in Inglewood, California, and Edward was buried in Inglewood Park Cemetery alongside his first wife.
