Robert M. Seeley Dies at His Home

Heart Attack Fatal to Retired Stove Co. Employee–Funeral Saturday

Robert M. Seeley, 72, 1501 Spruce street, retired, died at his residence Thursday afternoon following a heart attack. Mr. Seeley had been in failing health for several months but had been feeling well Thursday and he had been out in his garden for a short time before the heart attack.

He was born in Bloomington, Ill., February 22, 1873, a son of the late John and Anna Seeley, who came to Leavenworth when he was 12 years old. He started to work for the Great Western Stove Company when a young man. He was employed there nearly 50 years when the plant closed.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna Seeley of the home; two sons, Robert E. Seeley and Manuel E. Seeley, both in the Navy in the South Pacific; one daughter, Mrs. Julia Fleshman, of the home; two brothers, Wilson Seeley, 1425 Olive street; Bert Seeley, St. Louis, Mo.; and four granddaughters, Betty Seeley, Mary Ann Fleshman, Donna and Darlyne Seeley, all of Leavenworth.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Sexton funeral chapel. The Rev. Henry Last, pastor of the Church of the Open Door, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Muncie cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral chapel until the hour of services.
