Richard C. Cilley

FRANCESTOWN — Richard C. Cilley, 84, died Feb. 15, 2010, at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough.

He was born in Francestown, July 19, 1925, to Carl and Gladys (Chandler) Cilley. He had lived in Laconia and was a resident of Francestown for more than 35 years.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He worked as a manager for NH Ball Bearing, Inc.

He was past president of the Kiwanis Club, and a 70- year member of the Grange

He also was a member of the USS Hancock Association and the Hillsborough County Law Enforcement Association.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

“Cilley Dick” was known as a wonderful story teller.

Family members include his wife of 37 years, Wilma “Jeri” (Staak) Cilley, of Francestown; one son, Alan Cilley, of Pembroke; one daughter, Lauren Cilley, of Ashland; one stepson, David Norcross, of Dublin; three brothers, George Cilley of Francestown; Jerry Cilley of Windsor; Clyde “Skip” Cilley, of Francestown; four sisters, Ida Hobbs, of Pittsfield; Elizabeth “Betty” Jone, of Francestown; Violet Reindeau, of Milford; Mildred Weir, of Westborough, Mass.; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Davin Cilley, and his daughter, Valerie Morrison.

IN HIS LIFE: He is also survived by two grandsons, James and his wife Amanda Cilley, and Joseph Cilley, all of Belmont; a daughter-in-law, Helen Norcross, of Dublin; three step granddaughters, Heather and Nick Panagiotes, of Rindge, Heidi Blanchette and her husband, Aden, of Peterborough and Devon Norcross, of Orange County, Calif.; six great-grandchildren; his sister-in-laws, Karen Cilley, of Francestown and Shirley Cilley, of Windsor. He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Cilley.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Francestown Community Church on Main Street.
