Patrick L. Seely Sr.

DAVIE, Fla. Pat Seely passed away on September 1, 2017. Born in Nome, Alaska on December 14, 1938, Pat grew up in West Roxbury, Mass., raised a family in East Longmeadow, Mass. and later worked on his short game at Pine Island Ridge Country Club in Davie. He will be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart and generous spirit. Following four years in the Air Force, he worked for United Air Lines at Bradley Field in Windsor Locks, Conn. and Miami International where he was employee of the year. Pat’s United career allowed him to take his family on many trips to Europe, Asia, Africa and Hawaii. Our jet-setting middle class family enjoyed many adventures that created fond memories for us all. When he retired he was able to devote his attention to the greens and fairways, hunting with his brothers and friends at Moosehead Lake, Maine, and to his beloved grandchildren. Pat was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Dorothy (Slack) Seely; his brothers, Mike, Gerry and Tim; and his son, Sean. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Patrick (Mary) of Delmar, Matt and his fiance, Myleen of Glenville; his daughter-in-law, Jane of Schodack; his brothers, Joe (Isabelle), Steve (Ginny) and Pete (Patty); his grandchildren, Meghan, Kathryn, Caroline, Emily and Ryan; and many nieces, nephews and their families. Pat’s family thanks the nurses, doctors and all the staff at the Albany Med. I.C.U. for their many kindnesses and caring for him this Summer. Calling hours on Saturday, September 9, at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar, will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a service at 12 p.m.
