Nena J. Seely, 66, of Jerome died Thursday, Feb. 8, 1996, at her residence.
She was a congressional secretary for Wayne Hayes from 1947 to 1950 and crafts manager for Frank’s Nursery in Dublin for 15 years. She was a 45 year member of the Jerome United Methodist Church and financial secretary and treasurer and Sunday School teacher. She was a former member of the Union County Board of Health and a current member of the Union County Mental Health Board.
She was born June 24, 1929, in Lafferty to the late Frederick and Helen Kowalski Sylvester. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thad Seely Jr. in 1995 and a sister, Jane Woodard in 1990.
She is survived by a daughter, Laurel Benefiel; two sons, Chip (Jenney) Seely and Fred (Lisa) Seely; five grandchildren; a sister Olga (Paul Manley; and special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Jerome United Methodist Church. The Rev. Steve Cramer will officiate and interment will be at the Jerome Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Ferguson Funeral Home.
