Melanie Mueller Sealy (Driscoll/DeMars) Melanie passed Friday, July 31st, 2015 at the Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado after a courageous and strong willed fight against Small Cell Lung Cancer. Melanie was born February 19th, 1953 at Port Hueneme Naval Infirmary, Oxnard, California to Robert Vern and Elizabeth Mae (Hoffmann) Mueller. The family eventually moved to Mankato, Minnesota, where Melanie was confirmed at Christ the King Lutheran Church and later graduated from Mankato West High School in 1971. Melanie was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Kayla DeMars, brother Gregory Mueller, and father Robert Mueller. She now watches over with love her husband Russell Sealy of Golden, CO, daughter Heather Driscoll Rivers (Ryan) of Oak Grove, MN, grandson Wyatt Rivers, mother Elizabeth Mueller of Mankato, brother Paul Mueller (Geneva) of Mankato, nieces Gretchen Lind (Erick) of St Peter, Heidi Mueller of Mankato, Sara Wernberg (Brett) of Baxter, Stephanie Dunemann (Chase) of Suffolk, VA, nephew Joe Mueller of Mankato, and several great nephews and nieces, the entire Sealy, Mueller & Hoffman families, as well as many friends dear to her heart. Melanie excelled in the field of Property Management in which she worked for many years in both Minnesota and Colorado, most recently with Silvercrest Management. Not only did she do her job with great skill and pride, many of those she worked closely with were lucky enough to count her as a friend as well. Melanie had a heart bigger than the world, and touched everyone she knew with her love, thoughtfulness and generosity. She loved to shop, always looking for “just the perfect thing” for someone she loved. She also enjoyed traveling, and Ireland became a very special destination and memory. There will be two services to join together to Celebrate the Life of Melanie. The first will be held August 8th, 2015 at in Mankato, Minnesota at Hosanna Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m. with a luncheon immediately following. The second will be August 19th, 2015 at Mile High Church in Lakewood, Colorado at 10:00 a.m. followed by a reception. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado where Melanie will be laid to rest beside her daughter Kayla. Reception will follow. Memorials preferred to the family or A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation.
