Mrs Mary Emma Hardin Blanks Sealy, 99

CHESTER Mrs. Mary Emma Hardin Blanks Sealy, 99, died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Chester Regional Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 20, at Chester First Baptist Church with the Revs. Clay Waldrip and David Sealy officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Born June 24, 1910, in Chester, Mrs. Sealy was a daughter of the late John Henry Hardin and Leila Pearl Grant Hardin. She was a graduate of Chester High School and Queens College in Charlotte, N.C., and was retired from Wylie Brothers Monuments as Sales Manager. She was a member of Chester First Baptist Church and the TEL Sunday School Class. Mrs. Sealy was a lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW and Ladies Auxiliary DAV and a former member of the Chester Garden Club and Leroy Springs Golden Age “Flag Line”. She was the widow of Robert Lee Blanks Jr. and L.B. Sealy Sr.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Lee “Bob” Blanks III of Chester and Charlton Hardin Blanks and his wife, Angie of Chester; two grandchildren, Mary Beth Blanks Grumblis and her husband, David of Columbus, Ohio and William Joseph Blanks and his wife, Lindy of Chester; and one great-granddaughter, Ariel Blanks of Chester. She was preceded in death by a son, Carlton Edward Blanks, twin brother of Charlton H. Blanks.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., March 20, at Chester First Baptist Church, 102 Church Street, Chester.
