Lloyd Allan Seeley

December 4, 1926 – December 12, 2015

Passed away peacefully at the age of 89 years in Didsbury, AB.

Born in Melfort, SK, Lloyd grew up during the Depression and saw three of his siblings join forces in World War II.

“Hammer” left Saskatchewan and settled in Jasper, AB to begin a life on the railroad as a Fireman then progressed to Engineer on steam engines with the Canadian National Railway. It was in Jasper where he met his wife Bonnie and started his family. Lloyd and Bonnie eventually resided in Olds, AB where they have continued to live up until his passing.

Lloyd loved playing guitar and singing with family, and sang on the radio with his siblings when he was younger. He was keen on science and math, and very much a history buff. He carried a passion for hockey, playing on ponds in his youth, and became an avid referee critic in his spare time.

“Hammer” will be missed by Bonnie, his wife of nearly 50 years, his 4 children Pat Seeley (Shilyn), Denise Seeley (Dale Byers), Yvonne Hermann (Glenn) and Carmen Janzen. Lloyd leaves a legacy of 11 grand children: Grace, Ronan, Eliana, Ryan and Katie Seeley, Brooklyn and Lexi Byers, Mackenzie and Cameron Hermann, and Hannah and Talen Janzen.

Lloyd was predeceased by his daughter Corinne, brothers Elwin, Bud and Don, and sister Merna, and is survived by brothers Dale and Dennis, and sisters Sylvia and Gloria.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Lloyd in Jasper, AB in early summer.

A special thanks to the Didsbury Extended Care for the wonderful and loving care they provided for Lloyd. If so desired, memorial tributes may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
