Lila Jeannette Seely

Lila Jeannette Seely, age 74 of Cuyuna, died on September 2, 2016 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.

She was born on February 17, 1942 in Grand Rapids to Everett and Georgine (Clafton) Beach. Lila married Douglas Seely on April 2, 1971 in Watertown, SD. She was a former owner and operator of The Smoke House in Deerwood, the Woodtick Inn in Cuyuna and Lila J’s Riverside Inn in Crosby. She was also a former cook at the Grand Casino, Mille Lacs.

Preceding Lila in death are her parents and step father, Doug Barcus; husband, Doug and one sister, Sally Kloos.

Lila is survived by two sons, Keith (Rose) Seely and Kraig (Leslie) Seely all of Crosby; two daughters, Julene (Richard) Matthies of Denver, CO and Janelle (Tom) Stanton of Crosby; three brothers, John (Mary) Beach of Zim, Keith (Linda) Barcus of Bemidji, Kent (Connie) Barcus of Shevlin; two sisters, Amy (John) Waffensmith of Bay Lake and Delores (Cleo) Christopherson of Bemidji; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Motley Public Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
