Leslie so enjoyed his great grandchildren; Tymber, Benjamin, Laura, Kurtis, Kyle, Katelynn, Dawson, Tessah and Rhett. A man of vision, a man of dreams, a man of ideas, but also a leader and a person of action and achievements. Leslie grew up on a farm near Maxwell. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Forced and as a Flying Officer trainer pilots at Camp Borden for 2 to 3 years and then was dispatched to England as a pilot near the end of World War II. He built a large farming complex in the 1950’s. Leslie owned a general motors agency and a Rock-o-matic agency for many years. This included manufacturing and selling his own design of rock rakes, rock-king and he did this right up into his 90’s. Leslie built a beautiful farm with a large pond, trails, fishing, raising rainbow trout and elk. His creativity is illustrated by the landmark cabin in the middle of the pond. He loved his place and he loved his Florida home in Fort Myers. Family, friends, neighbours and colleagues were very important to Leslie. He was the best buddy of all and he was loved dearly. He loved all adventures, observations, wildlife and experiences of life with a very positive and understanding outlook. He was always the centre of the family and friends. His vision of the family farm as a family retreat was very important to him. In addition, he extended his creativity to his fun loving jokes and tricks to make joyous laughter and fun. He was a proud and active member for over 50 years with the Canadian Legion, Branch 333 and the Prince Arthur Masonic Lodge. The family is deeply indebted to Dr. Bryan Power and the staff at GBHS, Markdale. Arrangements were entrusted to FAWCETT FUNERAL HOME in Flesherton. Leslie will be deeply missed but always remembered by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his many friends.
