Lawrence A. Seeley, 86, of Elyria passed away Tuesday November 19, 2019, at O’Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville following a brief illness. He was born June 11, 1933 in Brighton and was a lifelong Elyria/Lorain area resident. Larry was employed at the Ridge Tool Company for 39 years, retiring in 1995 as a machine repairman. He was a United States Army veteran, a member of the Elyria Senior Men’s Fellowship and enjoyed walking at the mall. Survivors include his daughter, Gail Babcock; sons, John (Debbie) Seeley and Glenn Seeley; grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Seeley, Stephanie (Rick) Nigro, Amanda Sword, Brian (Amy) Seeley, Kara Coleman and Kevin Seeley; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Marge Funk and a brother, Jim Seeley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne on September 20, 2018, sisters, Jean Gaylord and Joan Babcock and a brother, David Seeley. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday November 26, 2019 in the funeral home. The Rev. Chuck Behrens will Officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
