Jan. 22, 1946 – March 9, 2016

EDMOND Larry Gene Seely passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday March 9, 2016. Larry was born Jan. 22, 1946, in Anthony, KS to Frank & Marjorie Seely. He grew up in Wakita, OK on the family farm and graduated from Wakita High School in 1964. He attended Northwestern State College in Alva and graduated with a degree in education in 1968. After serving in the Army National Guard for six years, Larry taught and coached football and wrestling at Bristow High School and Putnam City West High School. Larry and Jana Lou Covington were married July 17, 1971. He worked for the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture for 22 years as a warehouse examiner and retired in 2010. Larry enjoyed simply living life! He lived life to the fullest, He enjoyed people and was often the life of the party, having fun everywhere he went. He loved his Oklahoma State Cowboys. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at their lake house. Larry was an incredible father and best friend to his two sons, Scott and Chris, and father-in-law to Lilly, but most of all, a fun and loving grandfather to his six grandchildren, Conner, Collin, Sophia, Gabriella, Cole, and Max, who were always delighted to be around him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Jana Lou Seely; his parents, Frank and Marjorie Seely; and nephew, Eric Seely. Larry is survived by his sons, Scott and family, Edmond, OK; and Chris & wife Lilly and family, Edmond, OK; twin brother, Jerry Seely, Wakita, OK; brothers, James Seely, McKinney, TX; and Frank Seely, Wakita, OK; sisters, Pat Daub, Cherokee, OK; and Debbie George, Wakita, OK; in addition to many nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends. We are comforted knowing that you are reunited with your one true love, Jan, in Heaven. We miss you and love you more than you will ever know. Your memory will be carried on in the lives of all those you have touched. A Celebration of the Life of Larry will be held Tuesday, March 15, 1 p.m., Crossings Community Church, 14600 N. Portland Ave., Oklahoma City, 73134, in the Chapel.
