Larry E. Seeley

Larry E. Seeley, 81, rural Bovey, died Monday, April 1, 2019 in Home & Comfort, Coleraine.

Born November 13, 1937 in Wadena County, MN, he was the son of George W. and Alice E. (Davidson) Seely. At the age of 16, he moved to Itasca County and had been a resident of rural Bovey for the past 54 years. He had been a truck driver and millwright for U.S. Steel, retiring in 1983 with over 26 years of service. Larry was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1961 to 1963. Larry and Sue E. Hoopman were married on June 22, 1965.

His parents, George and Alice Seely; his father and mother-in-law, Howard and Mary Hoopman; a son-in-law, Doug Hulbert; seven brothers, and four sisters preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; children, Angela Hulbert of Grand Rapids, Andy Seeley, and Alan (Mary) Seeley, both of Bovey; grandchildren, Katie (Paul) Thouin, Kascie (Shane Bilyeu) Hulbert, Travis Seeley, Amie Hulbert, Tianna Seeley, and Karly Seeley; siblings, Waneta Hoopman, Bruce (Viola) Seeley, Judy Peck, Jane Hoopman, and Erlyn (Cathy) Seely; and sisters-in-law, Doris Seely, Mary Seeley, and Marg Vohiler.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service on Saturday, April 13, 2019 in the Assembly of God Church, Grand Rapids. Interment will follow at a later date in the Olivet Cemetery, Deer River. Arrangements are by the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.
