Kristina Kathryn Sealy

Sealy, Kristina Kathryn Born: June 15, 1988 She lost her lengthy battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma Cancer on November 11, 2011 at 8 pm at the age of 23 yrs, 4 months, 27 days. Born into this world with Cerebral Palsy and an attitude and joyfulness that no one could hold a match to. Kristina went through life with a BIG smile and Beautiful Blue Eyes that would capture and hold your attention; until she tricked you with some antic. Her long flowing shining brown hair was a site to behold. Kristina loved being around other people, especially those for whom she cared about. She loved going places, shopping or out to eat. She truly loved going for walks with her Daddy pushing her in her wheelchair. Those who were fortunate enough to have met and worked with her in therapy, school or the stores that we frequented were amazed at her playfulness and determination to overcome the obstacles that were thrust in her path of life, including environmental allergies that caused her undue hardship for several years prior to her cancer diagnosis in Jan of 2007. Many have said that she had taught them more than they had taught her about happiness, determination and unconditional love and were in awe. Everyone who met Kristina and cared for her were enriched in their lives for having known her, especially none more than her Daddy. She is and will continue to be missed be her friends and relatives, especially her Dad with whom she lived for 22 years, James (Jim) Sealy. She is also survived by her loving brother, James Patrick (Jimmy) Sealy, a US Marine, and his wife, Lindsey; her uncle, John Michael Sealy, all of Dallas; her mother, Jan Joiner Gorman, her aunt, Jean Joiner, uncles: Frank, Jim, and Jerry, stepdad, Jay Gorman, stepbrother, Jake Gorman, of Quitman, Tx., her many cousins of Dallas and of Quitman, Tx. Special thanks go out to those who have supported us over the years; especially, Helen Suessmann (a special thanks), Michael Charley, Sheila Berrones, Lindsey Elsner, Sarah Jones, Misty Ulrey, Mike Luckock, Kathy Rayburn, Lydia Boudreau, Martha and Dr. Ivan Danhof, Kim Watkins and all of the pharmacists at CVS in Snyder Plaza, Sheri Krager, Wanda Buchanan, and Ysmari Leyva. Special thanks to the medical team at Texas Oncology, Medical City, Dallas, especially Dr. Stanton Goldman for his willingness to allow for support for Kristina outside their expertise that gave us more time with her than we otherwise would have had. Services are to be held Friday, Nov 18, 2011 at 10am at Kristina’s favorite church, Christ The King, 8017 Preston Road, with Rosary and Visitation from 6 – 8 pm Thursday, Nov 17, 2011 at Sparkman-Hillcrest, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy. Please send any donations or offerings, in Kristina’s name to: Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center for the Ewing’s Sarcoma Vaccine Study at Medical City, 7777 Forest Ln, Bldg C, Ste 700, Dallas, Tx 75230.
