Kenneth Lamar Sealey, of 1113 East 9th Street, Lumberton, NC, died January 26, 2008 at GlenFlora Retirement Center.
Mr. Sealey was born March 10, 1923 to the late Chafus and Ruth Lewis Sealey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Marie Huggins Sealey.

He served as a deacon at Oakdale Baptist Church in the South Robeson Community and at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Dillon, South Carolina. He served in the Navy, often telling his family about his many trips back and forth across the ocean carrying cargo during World War II. He was a long time tobacconist with several warehouses in the Fairmont area. He retired from John Deere  Tractor Company in Hamer, SC, and worked with K.M. Biggs Tractor Company in Lumberton, and with Gaston Sealey Company in Fairmont. He was also a farmer in the Fairmont area.

He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Carolyn Sealey Evans and Hoyt of Greensboro, Kenneth Wayne Sealey and Deborah of Lumberton and Michael Sealy and Cynthia Ann of High Point; his grandchildren, Sheila Marie Kurtiak and husband, Phil of Gibsonville, Tonya Lee Orozco and husband, Joe of Columbus , GA, Timothy Wayne Sealey and Whitney Flora Sealey of Lumberton; and his great grandchildren, Anna Leigh Orozco and Logan Joseph Orozco of Columbus, GA, Savannah Kurtiak and Ryan Kurtiak of Gibsonville; his brother-in-law, C.M. Leggett of Fairmont; his sisters-in-laws, Doretha “Pete” Cole of North Myrtle
Beach, SC and Rosalee Lemmond of Dillon, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Brown and Dr. Mike Arnette officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 28, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

In lieu of flowers: American Diabetes Association or Southeastern Hospice House.
