Mrs. Seely’s Funeral Slated

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Benbough Mortuary for Mrs. Josephine Seely, 64, a former educator active in many organizations. She died Tuesday of a heart attack.
Mrs. Seely was stricken at her home, 3859 La Cresta Drive, and was dead on arrival at a hospital.

Her husband, Clair, a retired Mission Bay High School teacher, survives.

Born in Elkhart, Ind., Mrs. Seely was a graduate of Whittier College and the University of California in Berkeley, where she received a master’s degree. She taught mathematics at high schools in Santa Rosa and Garden Grove before marrying Seely and moving here 35 years ago.

Mrs. Seely was a member of the American Association of University Women, First Presbyterian Church and its Armadan Mariners Club, the Sierra Club, the Point Loma Assembly, the Point Loma Book Club and Sans Souci Dancing Club.
Also surviving are a daughter, two sisters, a brother and six grandchildren. Burial will be in Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery.
