Services for Joseph Edwin Sealy Jr., 61, of Meigs, are at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home Chapel in Pelham. The Rev. Jerry Lancaster, the Rev. Dennis Norman and the Rev. Sonny Nixon will officiate and interment is in Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Pallbearers are Steve Norton, Larry Owen, Durwood Hickey, Danny Peck, Jonathan Paschall, Walter Sealy, Michael Edenfield and Earl West. Honorary pallbearers are Lanny Robinson, Charles Sealy, Edwin Sealy, Chuck Godwin, Lanny Nicholson, Wayne Spence, Harold Cook and Ferrell F. Sealy. Mr. Sealy died March 27 at his residence. Born Oct. 9, 1947, in Mitchell County, he was a son of Louise Peck Sealy and the late Joseph Edwin “Buddy” Sealy Sr. He was married to Faye Bass Sealy. He was a farmer, retired from Thomas County EMS, Thomasville Orthopedics and Thomas County 911. He was a member of Meigs Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Faye Bass Sealy of Meigs; sons, Mark Edwin Sealy and wife, Cheryl of Thomasville, James Timothy Sealy and wife, Theresa of Meigs; daughters, Lisa Diane Sealy Cranford and husband, Chris of Pelham, Bonnie Paschall and husband, Jonathan of Pelham, Christie Edenfield and husband, Michael of Pelham, Patricia Norton and husband, Steve of Meigs; 14 grandchildren; mother, Mary Louise Sealy of Meigs; brother, Whit Sealy and wife, Denise of Meigs; and nephew, Caleb Sealy. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home in Pelham. Memorials may be made to Phoebe Cancer Center. — Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home
