John Everett Seeley
Seeley, John Everett 83, of Jackson, formerly of rural Addison passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 18, 2018 after a courageous year long battle with lung cancer. Born on February 10, 1934 in Addison, he was the son of Everett and Hazel (McConahy) Seeley. A 1951 graduate of Addison High School, John worked on his family Centennial farm in rural Addison, later working at Lee Stamping for 21 years. He retired as a purchasing agent from Miller Brothers Manufacturing in Homer, MI after 13 years. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique cars and motorcycles as well as attending car shows and swap meets with friends. He was a member of the Ford V-8 car club and held numerous offices in the club. He was co-owner of the Rose Trellis Bed in Breakfast n Jackson. Surviving are two children, Leonard John and Lisa Ann, his niece, Rebecca Ethridge and her husband Gary, great niece, Lisa Anne and special friend Rosemary Main. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Seeley, his sister Patricia Arnst and her husband Jack Arnst, nephew Jackie Arnst and dear friend Doris Nixon. Special thanks to Paul Rebesher and the members of the V-8 Ford Club, Humana Nurse Terry Miller as well as Great Lakes Hospice for their many kindnesses during this difficult time. A memorial service for John will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson at 11:30pm. The family will receive friends for a visitation an hour preceding the service, beginning at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of John may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Red Cross or the V-8 Ford Club, 3401 Zion Rd., Jackson, MI 49201.
