He worked as a land surveyor before moving to the Portland area in 2001. He was also a musician (bass guitar). John is survived by his significant other, Robin O’Neill; mother, Dottie Hopkins; brother, Mark (Amanda) Seely; aunt, Lenis Northmore; uncle, Chris Hopkins; nephews, Ashe and Viktor; niece, Jessica; and cousins, Jonathan, Angelica, Cliff, and Tim. He was preceded in death by his father, David P. Seely. A service for John will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, in Crown Memorial Center – Milwaukie.
