Memorial services for Mr. Jim Sealey were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague, with Bro. Steve Cowart officiating.
A time of memory sharing and visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
James Allen Sealey, born February 10, 1948, went to be in his Heavenly Father’s arms on December 28. Jim was born in Port St. Joe, Florida and moved to The Groves, Texas at an early age.
He attended Trinity Valley Junior College on a football scholarship.
He served in the U.S. Navy and later went to nursing school with advanced studies in OB/GYN and later family nurse practitioner.
He was the director of Community Outpatient Clinics for Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
He then moved to Teague where he served the communities of Limestone and Freestone counties as a family nurse practitioner for the past 19 years.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of Scottish and York Rites. He was an active board member of the Freestone Credit Union.
He is survived by: his wife, Linda, of Teague; son, Chris Sealey and wife, Jina, of Malakoff; stepsons, Travis Harper, of Odessa, and Austin Harper and wife, Nicole, of Temple; five grandchildren, Ashley, Sarah, and Taylor Sealey, of Rockwall, and Jordan and Jenna Sealey, of Malakoff; his brother, Bill Sealey, and wife, Eva, of Flint; step-brother Frankie Williams and wife, Kim, of Port St. Joe, Florida.
Mr. Sealey was preceded in death by his parents, John and Norma Sealey, of Port St. Joe, Florida.
Aside from serving his patients, Jim enjoyed hunting, antiques, restoring furniture and entertaining his grandchildren.
