Horace Isaac Seeley

EASLEY, S.C. – Horace Isaac Seeley, 77, of Rt. 6 Burdine Springs, died Thursday in an Easley hospital.

A native of Chicago, Ill., he was a son of the late Frederick R. and Alice May Chrissinger Seeley.  He was a graduate and teacher at Porter Military Academy in Charleston, S.C. and served in the Army Balloon Corps during World War I, after which he came to Asheville and began work at Carolina Power and Light Co.  He was well known as a tenor soloist in Asheville and Raleigh and as an after dinner speaker throughout the Carolinas.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Barbara Barfield Seeley; a daughter, Mrs. Ann Davey of Easley; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.

Private graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Hillcrest Memorial Park near Pickens, S.C.  The Rev. Robert G. Riegel will officiate.

The family request that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to St. James Episcopal Church in Greenville, S.C.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
