FAIRFAX – Eugene H. Seley, 85, husband of Mary Williams Seley died Sunday, July 5, 2009. Mr. Seley was a native of Citra, Fla., and the son of the late Eugene and Linnie Hutcheson Seley. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, retired from Seaboard Coastline Rail Road, retired from South Carolina National Guard and a member of Buford Masonic Lodge #27. “Gene” was a devoted Christian and member of Fairfax First Baptist Church where he served in all capacities of the church but he particularly enjoyed teaching Sunday School. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Fairfax First Baptist Church with Dr. Scott Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary W. Seley of Fairfax; one son, P. Kent Seley (Laura) of Fairfax; one daughter, Mary Jean S. Carlson (Charles) of Allendale; four grandchildren, Rick Grubbs (Jana), J.D. Grubbs (Kimberly), Kiel Seley and Karyn Seley; stepgrandchild, Heather C. Loadholt (Brett) and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Keith Smith Funeral Service, 128 Water Street, Allendale, SC 29810. 803-584-2492.
