Esther Jane Bauwens Seely

Fromberg – Esther Jane Bauwens Seely passed away at home with her family on Friday, Oct. 20, 2000.

She was born June 4, 1924, in Manhattan to William Talbert (Tag) Gover and Esther Anne Byers Gover.  Jane grew up in Manhattan and graduated from Manhattan High School in 1942.  She then attended Eastern Montana Normal School (MSU-Billings), graduated with her teaching degree, and taught first grade at Fromberg Elementary School.  In 1946, Jane married Morris Bauwens and together they farmed and raised three children.  This marriage ended in 1975, and in 1987, Jane married Perry Seeley; they were together until 1994.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Douglas and William; and an infant son, Daniel.  Survivors include her brother, Gordon Gover of Ulm; children, Jerry Bauwens, Jim (Sharon) Bauwens all of Fromberg and Vicki (Brock) Hodson of Colstrip; and grandchildren, Dillon and Ashley Hodson of Colstrip and Amber and Autumn Ennis of Fromberg.

In addition to her wonderful devotion to raising her family, for 54 years Jane spent countless hours performing the bookkeeping chores for the family farm and ranch.  She was a member of the Fromberg United Methodist Church for many years.  Jane enjoyed gardening and raising flowers and sharing them with all of us.  In lieu of flowers, Jane requested memorials to the Fromberg Methodist Church or Beartooth Hospice, PO Box 590, Red Lodge, MT 59068.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Fromberg Methodist Church.
