Donald E. Seley

Memorial services for Donald E. Seley, formerly of Riverside, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Riverside National Cemetery. He died of a brain tumor July 27 at Braswell’s Colonial Care in Redlands. He was 68.

Aaron Cremation and Burial Services in Loma Linda is handling arrangements.

Mr. Seley, who was born in Youngstown, Ohio, lived in Highland eight years. He previously lived in Crestline five years and in Riverside for 15 years.

He worked for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department for 20 years before he retired as a lieutenant in 1987.

Mr. Seley served in the U. S. Air Force 14 years and was discharged as a staff sergeant. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

He also served a year in the U. S. Army Reserve and a year in the U. S. Navy Reserve.

Mr. Seley enjoyed fishing, traveling in his recreational vehicle, reading and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann; two sons, Bob Smith of Phoenix and Jimmy Seley of Riverside; two daughters, Peggy Balding of Summerfield, N. C., Tammy LaLoggia of Las Vegas; a stepdaughter, Lisa Wise-Wolk of Highland; two stepsons, Bill Wise and Scott Pope, both of Highland; 14 grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Marie of Vienna, Ohio.

The family requests memorial contributions to the Riverside Sheriff’s Association.
