Clara B. (Stevens) Whaley Seeley

Clara B. (Stevens) Whaley Seeley, 77, of Nashville, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1992, in Pennock Hospital, Hastings.

Mrs. Seeley was born April 27, 1915, to Ernest and Clara Stevens.  She was raised in St. Johns and attended St. Johns High School.  She came to the Nashville-Vermontville area in 1932 after her marriage to Carl Whaley.

She married Mike Seeley in Vermontville in 1951.  They owned Seeley Distributing Co. and the Nashville Locker Plant.  Mr. Seeley died in 1964.

She was a waitress in Andy’s Restaurant in Charlotte and at the Nashville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

She was a life member of Nashville CFW auxiliary 8260.  She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, bowling, and flower gardening.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Loraine Bulmer; sons, Donald and James Whaley; and a sister, Lois Stevens.

Surviving are a daughter, Karla (Dennis) Hale of Charlotte; two grandsons; and five step grandchildren.

Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Maple Valley Chapel-Genther Funeral Home, Nashville.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Kersten officiating.

Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Nashville.

Memorials: Putnam Library, Nashville.
