CHARLES DORR CILLEY Jr.

CILLEY, Charles Dorr Jr. 65 years of age, died Monday, January 26, 2015 in Wells. Charlie grew up in Weymouth, MA and graduated from Brewster Academy in Wolfboro, NH where he was valedictorian. He excelled in art and music and went on to attend the University of New Hampshire. He resided in Framingham and Charlestown, MA before relocating to his permanent residence in Dover, NH. Charlie played guitar and sang with the duo “Water Brothers” with friend John Sawyer. Both later joined the rock band “Summer Street,” and played throughout ME and NH. Charlie was loyal and protective of those he held close and was a great mentor to his nephew, Travis. He loved his cats, surfing and playing his guitar on Moody Beach with a full moon dancing on the water. He will be fondly remembered for his ability to enjoy the simple things in life and converse on almost any subject. He is predeceased by his father Charles D. Cilley and sister Andrea Cilley (Murphy). He leaves behind his mother Dorothy Cilley; his brother David and wife Patricia, niece and nephew Brianna and Travis; his brother Tim and wife Lucila, nephew Tim II; his niece and nephew Aila and Carson Murphy. He also leaves behind his former wife, Pam, and many close friends who will forever remember his incredible musical talent and love for the ocean. For Charlie Sea, in the words of Van Morrison, it will always be “a marvelous night for a moondance.” A service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Street, PO Box 910, Wells, ME 04090.
