Cecillia Maria “Cecie” Larsen Seeley

A memorial service for Solvang resident Cecillia Maria “Cecie” Larsen Seeley, 84, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Garden Chapel, 7769 Toronga Canyon Blvd., Canoga Park.

Born Aug. 6, 1917 at Solvang, Mrs. Seeley died Jan. 10.  She served in the Navy WAVES during World War II where she met husband Frank Seeley.  The couple lived in Canoga Park for many years and were long-time members of the Epiphany Lutheran Church.  She was known for her beautiful rose garden, plus gardens of irises, calla lilies and many flowering plants and trees.  She was also an artist who loved painting landscapes.

She was preceded in death by husband Frank Watson Seeley and brothers and sisters Aage, Carl, Nick, John, Philip, Ellen, Elinor, Louise and Martha; son Alan R. Seeley; and granddaughter Kara Seeley.

Survivors include son Jack Seeley of Northern California; daughter Susan Johnson of Miami Beach, Fl; daughter in law Lori Seeley of Simi, Calif., grandsons Kenneth Johnson, Nicholas Seeley and Adam Seeley; sisters-in-law Agnes Larsen and Thyra Larsen; and many other relatives.

Memorial donations in her name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
