PORTLAND – Camilla Cilley, 95, of Portland, ME, died peacefully at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House on Friday, February 3, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Camilla was born on October 27, 1921, in Portland, Maine, a daughter of Angelo and Adelaide (Casale) Fusco. She grew up in Portland and attended Portland schools. Camilla worked throughout her life in manufacturing and service positions, including HealthTex and Baxter School. She had a strong work ethic but what most defined Camilla was her commitment to and love of her family. Family was the most important aspect of Camilla’s life.
She married Herbert Cilley in 1980, and they enjoyed 32 years of marriage before his death in 2012. She loved to garden, crochet, play the guitar, go shopping, do puzzles, go out to eat, play cards, or go to Beano. Camilla was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking Italian cookies.
She was predeceased by her parents and husband; grandson, Gary Pontau; brothers, Ralph, Matthew, Joseph, and Benjamin; sisters, Madeline, Rose, Mary, Angelina, and Viola.
Camilla is survived by her son, Gary Pontau of Westbrook; her beloved granddaughters, Catherine and her husband Michael Francoeur of Windham, Julie and her husband Joseph Dugas of Windham, Michelle and her husband Todd Arsenault of Westbrook; six great-grandchildren, Joseph and Shawn Francoeur, Kayla and Joshua Dugas, Brittney and Courtney Arsenault. She will be sadly missed by Jeannette Conley. A period of visitation will be held from 10-11 am on Saturday, March 4, 2017 followed by funeral service at 11AM at Jones Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Camilla’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
