Services held Monday for B.F. Seely, 76

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Mt. Pleasant Second-Third ward chapel for Benjamin Frank Seely, 76, who died Thursday morning in a Provo hospital of complications following surgery.

He was born July 13, 1885, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of William H. and Charlotte Reynolds Seely.  He married Minnie Bell Christensen, December 19, 1919 in Manti LDS Temple.  She died in January 1933.  He married Merelda Jones Anderson, February 22, 1935 in Manti Temple.  He was a retired farmer and stockraiser.

Mr. Seely served a four year Church mission in Holland.  He has served two stake missions in North Sanpete Stake, was superintendent of Indianola Sunday School and was a member of the 240th Quorum of Seventy.

Surviving are his widow and the following sons and daughters: Bert Seely and Louise Seely, Mt. Pleasant; Donald F. Seely, Mrs. LaVoy (Wilma) Coombs, Mrs. Verne S. (Catherine) Guymon, all of Salt Lake City.  Also surviving are the following stepsons and stepdaughters, Levi Anderson, Ogden; Jay J. Anderson, Roy; Mrs. Theodore (Rae) Christensen, Provo; Mrs. Robert (Bea) Wright, Granger; Mrs. Jack A. (Joan) Dyer, Sandy; 36 grandchildren and two brothers, R. Bruce Seely and Lawrence Seely, both of Mt. Pleasant.

Reeve Norman of the Second ward bishopric, presided at the services.  Prayer at the home was given by O.F. Peel; prelude and postlude music, Ethel Ericksen; prayer, Joseph L. Lund, vocal duet, Ray Beck and Eva Lay, accompanied by Opal Hermansen; vocal solo, Magdalene Taylor, accompanied by Opal Hermansen; speaker, S.M. Neilsen; vocal solo Floyd Young of Fairview, accompanied by Ethel Ericksen; speaker, J. Leo Seely; organ solo, Ethel Ericksen; benediction, Alten Brothersen.

Burial was in Mt. Pleasant city cemetery directed by Jacobs Mortuary.  A son, Donald F. Seely, dedicated the grave.

Pallbearers were Donald Seely, Bert Seely, Jay Anderson, Levi Anderson, Ronald Seely and David Coombs.  Honorary pallbearers, LaVoy Coombs, Verna Guyman, Robert Wright and Theodore Christensen.
