Arthur Sealey

Arthur Sealey, 87, formerly of Republic and a resident of Fairhaven Retirement and Healthcare Community of Upper Sandusky since 1999, died at 4:53 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at Fairhaven.

Arthur was born Feb. 15, 1920, in Delaware, Ohio, to Charles L. and Martha J. (Collins) Sealey. He first married Mary Blankenship and she is deceased. He then married Mildred F. Snyder on March 26, 1967, at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky, and she died Jan. 8, 2004.

He is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; five brothers, Dearold Sealey, Francis Sealey, Richard Sealey, Rollie Sealey and Walter Sealey; and two sisters, Esther Brown and Betty Altman.

He had worked for more than 25 years for ExCel Wire in Tiffin. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky. A life member of the DAV, he was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the European Theater.

Arthur?s hobbies included his enjoyment of traveling, vegetable and flower gardening and fishing.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. David Roach officiating. Burial will be at Old Mission Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by various veteran service organizations.

Calling hours are 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or Fairhaven Home in care of Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
