Alice M. Seeley, 95, formerly of Marshall St., Hartford, now residing in South Windsor, widow of John McGill and Robert Seeley, died peacefully Monday (December 17, 2001.) Born in West Broughton, Quebec, Canada, July 7, 1906, daughter of the late James M. and Catherine A. (McGuire) Noonan, she resided in Hartford for over 50 years. Prior to retiring, Alice was a beautician for over 40 years at the Schultz Beauty Salon at the former Brown Thompson’s in Hartford and later at the West Hartford Salon. She was a longtime faithful communicant at the Cathedral of St. Joseph where she also served as a member of the Funeral Ministry. Alice did extensive volunteer work for the Salvation Army in Hartford, where she received numerous awards and a commendation from the Governor. She also dedicated countless hours volunteering at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. She is survived by her two sisters, Mary Noonan Leo of South Windsor and Helena Noonan Dutelle of Manchester; a brother, Raymond Noonan or Oroville, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Gertrude Noonan; and two brothers, Albert and Earl Noonan. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated this Saturday, Dec. 22, 10:30 a.m. in the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 140 Farmington Ave., Hartford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, PO Box 628, Hartford, CT 06142-0628. Arrangements are being handled by the Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Ave., Hartford.
