Former Bellefontaine resident Alice Evelyn Jenkins Seeley, 65, of Kenton, passed away at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, in her residence.

She was born in Bellefontaine on Dec. 15, 1936, a daughter of Maria Jane Barger Jenkins, who survives in Kenton, and the late Hubert Clinton Jenkins.

On Sept. 11, 1955, she married Pearl Wayne Seeley in Bellefontaine, and he survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Timothy W. (Julia) Seeley of Fairlawn, John P. Seeley of Kenton and Thomas E. (Sue) Seeley of Zanesfield; one daughter, Anna Marie (Stanley) Dunaway of Zanesfield; seven grandchildren, Cassaundra, Elizabeth, Thomas, Kathleen and Sarah Seeley and Allison and Alana Dunaway; three brothers, Bernard E. (Eloise) Jenkins of Thompson, Ga., and David A. (Beverly) Jenkins and Roy N. (Jackie) Jenkins, both of Bellefontaine; and one sister, Rita Jane Taylor of Ocala, Fla.

She was a member of the Gideons Auxiliary, the Hannah Chapter of the Belle Center Order of Eastern Star, the Latham Chapter 364 OES of Kenton and Laureata Beta Mu Chapter Beta Sigma Phi.

She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1954 as co-valedictorian.

A legal secretary, she was employed by attorney J. Ewing Smith in Bellefontaine until 1955 and then for attorney Burke Smith of Kenton. She became deputy clerk of Probate Court in Hardin County, where she was named chief deputy in 1991 and remained until her retirement in 1999.

Pastor Michael Rucker will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Church of God, where she was a member. Interment is in Huntsville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine and at the church one hour prior to services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ridgeway Church of God building fund and Hardin Hospice Care.
