The ‘Globe’ last eve. printed a story in which it stated that Capt. A. McL. SEELY of Saint John, master of vessel “Squando” of Liverpool, had been arrested at one of the guano islands on a charge of killing his mate whose name is not given. A letter from Mrs. SEELY, who was with her husband, states that he was struck down with small pox shortly after he was imprisoned, and afterwards taken to hospital where he died. Another report, the ‘Globe’ says, is that Capt. Seely and the second mate are still in prison awaiting trial.
