SARDIS, Ga. – Mr. Albert Lanier Sealy, Jr. 84, died August 18, 2011 at the Burke Medical Center. Mr. Sealy was a native of Lake City, Florida, grew up in Cuthbert, Georgia and was a longtime resident of Newnan, Georgia before moving to Sardis two years ago. He attended South Georgia College and Gordon Military School. Mr. Sealy was a United States Navy Corpsman serving in WWII. He was a member of the Newnan Country Club, the Jolly Boys and was a retired business owner. Mr. Sealy was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Newnan, a member of Cokes Chapel in Sharpsburg, Georgia and most recently a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church. Surviving are, his wife , Kathryn Pearl Mobley Sealy of Sardis, a son, Albert L. Sealy III of Alabama, a step-son, Richard Harper and wife Cameron of Newnan, a step-daughter, Jennifer Dreyer and husband Doug of Newnan and four grandchildren, Lanier Sealy, Andrew Sealy, Emily Sealy and Sealy Dreyer. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday August 21, 2011 at the Sardis United Methodist Church with the Reverend Steve Sirmons officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A Graveside Service will be 3 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2011 in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, Georgia with Military Honors.
