Lee Seeley Died Friday

Well-Known Business Man of Jerome Succumbed As Result of Cancer

A. Lee Seeley, age 66 years died Friday afternoon at his home in Jerome, following a long illness of cancer of the liver.  He went to Grant hospital last fall and after an incision was made it was discovered that he had cancer no operation was performed.

He was the owner of the oldest grocery store in Union county and also owned grocery stores at Rathbone and Powell.  He was one of the best known men of Union county.  He was a member of the Plain City Masonic lodge.  Mr. Seeley was born and raised in Jerome township.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marletta Seeley, whose maiden name was Penny, of Dublin; two daughters, Mrs. Ellouise Scott, of Powell; Mrs. Irene Rowling, of New California; three sons, Thad, of Jerome; Eli, living near the Girls’ Industrial School, and Fred Seeley, of Powell.  A daughter, Gladys Seeley, was killed in an automobile accident in 1920.  Two brothers and three sisters also survive, Clifford Seeley, living in Tennessee, and Sherman Seeley, of Paulding county, and three sisters, Mrs. Effie Chapman, Mrs. Mabel Ashbaugh and Mrs. Anna Wollam, of Columbus, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Seeley home, and interment in the cemetery at Jerome in charge of J.D. Ferguson, Plain City mortician.
