Seelye – Skillman
The Central Bible Church of Kalispell was the scene of the June 26 afternoon wedding of Sharon Seelye, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Seelye of Kalispell to John T. Skillman, son of Mrs. Joyce Hidy and the late Mr. Skillman of Livingston. The double-ring sacred ceremony was performed by the Rev. Clarence Loewen.
A yellow and white color theme was carried out in the church decoration for the affair. Organist was Miss Ruth Wilson and vocalists were the Misses Kathy Stewart and Karen De Vies.
Serving as her sister’s maid of honor was Melody Seelye and serving as bridesmaids were the Misses Cheryl Kauffman, Kalispell, Charlotte Skillman, Livingston, Lyn Holms of Billings was best man and groomsmen were Tim Seelye, brother of the bride, Kalispell, and Dan Dyke, Billings. Serving as ushers were Dan Seelye, Kalispell, and Art Orr, Bigfork.
For her wedding the bride chose a floor-length, long-sleeved gown of her own creation. Organza ruffles trimmed the high neckline, the front length of the gown and the long train. Satin buttons accented the full length of the dress. Her shoulder-length veil fell from a headpiece of clustered flowers. She carried a bouquet of daisies and white roses.
The newlyweds were honored at a reception after the ceremony in the church fireside room. Assisting were Mrs. Jack Seelye, Mrs. Dale Seelye, and the Misses Barbara, Susan and Janice Seelye, Barbara Sperry and Eloise Skillman.
After a honeymoon trip to Glacier Park and other parts of Montana, the new Mr. and Mrs. Skillman are making their home in Billings. The bride is a graduate of Flathead High School and will be a senior at Montana Institute of the Bible (MIB) at Billings this fall. The bridegroom is a graduate of MIB and is now attending Eastern Montana College. He is employed at Safeway Store in Billings.
