Seeley – Hubert

Before an altar decorated with baskets of mixed white flowers, Miss Kay Louise Hubert became the bride of Richard Leroy Seeley at 2 p.m. on June 14 in the Sanford Methodist Church. Rev. Rexford Meleen performed the double-ring ceremony.

Miss Hubert is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Hubert of Centerville, RD 1. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Seeley Sr. of Titusville, RD 2.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white embossed rayon silk, styled and fashioned by herself. The upper bodice of Chantilly lace featured a bow of embossed rayon silk and was decorated with tiny seed pearls. The dress was fashioned with long Chantilly lace sleeves with a scalloped edge. The two front panels of the princess styled waist, accenting a very full, hooped skirt, were decorated with seed pearls. Her fingertip veil of illusion descended from a Victoria style crown of lace, sequins and pearls. The bride’s only jewelry, a gold cross necklace, was a gift of the bridegroom. Miss Hubert carried a trailing bouquet of baby pink roses, mixed with larger pink roses, ivy and lily of the valley on white satin streamers. She carried out the tradition of wearing something old, new, borrowed and blue.

Miss Carol Archer of Pleasantville, who served as maid of honor, was dressed in a gown of pale blue satin covered with white Chantilly lace. The ballerina-length gown featured a scooped neckline and full skirt.

The bridesmaids, Miss Elizabeth Ann Myers of Titusville and Miss Virginia Seeley of Titusville, RD 1, wore gowns identically styled to that of the maid of honor in pale pink.

All the attendants wore white picture frame hats and white accessories. They carried colonial bouquets of pale shades of pink, rose and yellow.

Carl Gibson of Titusville, RD 2, served as best man. Ushers were Martin Hubert of Centerville, RD 1, and Russell Doud of Hydetown.

Traditional wedding music was played by Betty Danielson of Sanford on the piano. Selections included “Because,” “I Love You Truly” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”

Mrs. Hubert was attired in a pink sheath dress, featuring fitted bolero with white accessories. Both mothers wore pink carnations.

Following the ceremony, a reception for friends and relatives was held on the lawn at the home of the bride’s parents. The bride’s table was decorated with pale shades of roses and carnations. Candles flanked each side of the four-tiered wedding cake. Reception aides were Mrs. Ted Bryan and Mrs. William Minich Sr. of Titusville, Mrs. Walter Litkie of Conneaut Lake and Mrs. David Manross of West Hickory.

A delayed wedding trip is planned from July 8 to Aug. 4 to Amarillo, Tex. The couple now makes their home in Enterprise.

The new Mrs. Seeley is a graduate of Titusville High School and is employed by Sylvania Electric Products, Inc. Her husband attended Titusville Area Schools and is employed in oil lease work.

Guests attended from Buffalo, Oil City, Titusville, Pleasantville, Enterprise, Meadville, West Hickory and Grand Valley.
